About

Welcome to the website of the Actuarial & Financial Society in University College Dublin. The society has just concluded its 25th session and is currently seeking sponsorship for the 2018-19 academic year. To discuss a sponsorship agreement with the society please contact Auditor Ciarán O’Donnell at actuarial.financial@ucd.ie

The A&F Society was set-up in 1992 with four objectives:

  1. To establish and maintain healthy relations with the actuarial and financial industry.
  2. To present and promote the course amongst prospective employers.
  3. To provide a framework within which students can meet socially and develop strong relationships that will last through university and on into their future careers.
  4. To provide students with career focused events that equip them with the knowledge and tools needed to pursue a career in the actuarial and financial industry.

Each year at the society AGM a new society committee is elected. The 2018-19 society committee is as follows:

Ciarán O’Donnell – Auditor

Kevin Dunne – Vice-Auditor

Eoin Stack – Treasurer

Elizabeth Fee- Secretary

Jim Morrissey – PRO

Siobhán Carty – Careers Co-ordinator

We also wish to say thanks to the outgoing committee, who made the 2017-18 academic year such a huge success. This committee was made up of Kevin Boonstra, Órlaith Lehane, Andrew Dowd, Caroline Breen and Niall McCarthy. We wish them all the best in their future endeavours.
